Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

236 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cavan has not been called for a hip operation to Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, County Meath in view of the fact that the person is now waiting in excess of 15 months for the operation; and if he will make the necessary arrangements and have the person admitted for surgery. [3449/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of County Cavan rests with the North-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
