Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Case Management Review.

Dan Neville

Question:

248 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if the report on the case management review of the care and services provided for a person (details supplied) will be made public; and when this report will be completed. [3584/02]

The chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority announced last week that a case management review of the care and services provided to the young woman who died recently will be conducted by the former President of the High Court, Mr. Justice Frederick Morris. The review will also cover all the circumstances leading to her death and will be carried out in collaboration with the Northern Area Health Board. Whatever assistance is required by Mr. Justice Morris will be made available to him.

I have been informed by the Eastern Regional Health Authority that the timescale for completion of the review will depend on the length of time Mr. Justice Morris requires and that it is the intention of the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to publish the report of the review.
