Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - School Staffing.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

439 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science his proposals for the appointment of a full-time special needs assistant for Letterfrack national school, Connemara, County Galway. [3666/02]

My Department has already sanctioned a special needs assistant post to cater for a number of pupils with special needs attending the school in question.

My Department's inspectorate is considering a request from the school for the allocation of a further special needs assistant post to cater for one pupil.

Officials from my Department will be in contact with the school authorities shortly in relation to this matter.
