Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Reductions.

Brendan Kenneally

Question:

440 Mr. Kenneally asked the Minister for Education and Science the position concerning employees in a school (details supplied) in County Waterford in relation to income tax deductions and returns to the Revenue Commissioners; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3672/02]

In so far as the employees to which the Deputy refers are teachers or special needs assistants allocated to the school by my Department, they are paid from centralised payrolls operated by my Department and relevant income tax deductions are remitted by my Department to the Revenue Commissioners.

Responsibility for income tax deductions in respect of any other persons employed by the school is a matter for the school authorities as the employer.
