Vol. 547 No. 3

Written Answers. - Public Safety.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

107 Mr. Gilmore asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress which has been made in considering the need for a new authority with overall responsibility for public safety as recommended by the interdepartmental committee; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3334/02]

I am still considering the implications of the report of the interdepartmental agency review group on public safety, including the recommendation to establish an office of public safety regulation, which requires consultation with Government colleagues.
