Question:

119 Mr. Stanton asked the Taoiseach the number of people carried into the State in 2000 and 2001 by the respective airlines and ferry companies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3671/02]

The latest passenger movement figures available from the CSO are in respect of the first two quarters of 2001. These figures are set out in the following table, along with corresponding figures for 2000. For reasons of statistical confidentiality, the CSO does not give a breakdown in respect of airlines and ferry companies. The figures for the third quarter of 2001 will be published on Wednesday, February 2002 and the results for the fourth quarter will be available in March.
