Vol. 547 No. 4

Written Answers. - All-Irish Schooling.

Willie Penrose

Question:

206 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application has been made to his Department by a school (details supplied) in County Offaly for funding to run an all-Irish section within the school; when this project will be considered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3704/02]

An application to establish an all-Irish unit with effect from September 2002, at the school referred to by the Deputy, has recently been received from County Offaly VEC. This application is under consideration in the planning section of my Department and a decision on the matter will be made as soon as possible.
