Before coming to the Order of Business I propose to deal with a notice of motion under Standing Order 31 from Deputy Connaughton. I call on Deputy Connaughton to state the matter.
Request to move Adjournment of Dáil under Standing Order 31.
I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the following important matter: the lay-off of 14 workers out of a total workforce of 28 at the Hi Tech factory at Mountbellew, Ballinasloe, County Galway, this week; and given that there is no industrial project in the town to seek the help of the IDA and the Government in attracting an industry to the area.
Having considered the matter fully, I do not consider it to be in accordance with Standing Order 31.
