Vol. 548 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

159 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the understaffing of his Department's office in Killarney, County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4157/02]

There is a vacancy at supervisory agricultural officer level to be filled in the farm development service office in Killarney, County Kerry. This vacancy arose as a result of the promotion of the supervisory agricultural officer who was headquartered at that office and his consequential transfer on promotion to another work area. My Department is making arrangements for the filling of this vacancy and it is expected that an officer will be assigned to this post shortly.
