Vol. 548 No. 2

Written Answers. - Land Annuities.

Sean Fleming

Question:

184 Mr. Fleming asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when lands (details supplied) allotted by the Land Commission will be vested in the names of the individuals concerned; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4592/02]

The annuities payable on the account in this case have been in arrears for many years. A large amount of the accumulated arrears were paid off last year but the account remains in arrears and it is not the practice of my Department to vest land where the account continues to be in arrears. If the annuitant discharged the outstanding arrears in this case, the vesting of the land would proceed thereafter in the usual fashion.
