216 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Finance the number of original or valuable chimney pieces, architraves, doorcases, doors or other fixtures and fittings of value, which have been stolen or removed without permission from historic or listed properties within the care of the Office of Public Works or ownership of the State; the buildings from which such items were removed or stolen over the past ten years; the security which was in place to protect these items; the measures which have been taken to recover these items; the number of these items which have been recovered; if prosecutions have taken place or are pending in these cases; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information requested by the Deputy will require considerable research and I shall convey the information requested to the Deputy as soon as it is to hand.
