222 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of cases, by health board, in each of the past five years, where the board made an application to the courts to have a patient or patients who were in psychiatric hospitals made wards of court. [4147/02]
The information requested by the Deputy is not routinely collected by my Department or by the health boards. The office of the wards of court has informed my Department that it is unable to access this information currently. The office is, however, in the process of computerising its records and I understand that when this process is completed the information sought by the Deputy will be readily available.
