319 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if an increase in a new house grant will be made available to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who applied for and received a disabled person's new house grant two years ago. [4783/02]

A disabled persons new house grant was paid in this case. The house was occupied in April 1999 and the appropriate grant of £3,000 was paid. The increased grant of €12,697, £10,000, is available only where works commenced on or after 6 December 2000.
