Liam Aylward

Question:

144 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the delay in having an area aid application processed for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [4929/02]

The person named is a new applicant for arable aid and his 2001 area aid application has now been fully processed without errors. Payments due to him will issue shortly.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

145 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when payment in respect of an area aid application for 2001 will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [4983/02]

The person named submitted a late arable area aid application in November 2001. His application was accepted by my Department on grounds of force majeure. The seven plots he added to his 2001 application are now being entered on the Department's electronic database and he will be paid his full entitlement as soon as possible.

John Ellis

Question:

146 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if all premium payments due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim will be made. [5032/02]

A parcel claimed by the person named is part of a commonage on which a cumulative over-claim has arisen. The area aid unit is currently examining the documentation received with a view to clarifying the correct entitlements to area aid on this commonage. It is hoped to have this exercise, which by its nature is time consuming, completed shortly. No payments under the 2001 area-based compensatory allowance scheme or the final instalment of the 2001 ewe premium scheme can issue until this problem has been resolved. A solicitor acting for the person named has also contacted the Department.
