Vol. 548 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

98 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive an area based payment for 2001; and when this person will receive payment under the protocol. [5100/02]

On 6 December 2001 the person named was paid a total of €4673.56, or £3680.73. The payment was made under the area based compensatory allowance scheme in respect of 39.23 hectares of more severely handicapped lowland at €88.88 or £70 per hectare and 20.77 hectares of mountain type land at €57.14 or £45 per hectare. This compares with his average headage payment of €1921.41 or £1513.23 under the old animal based headage schemes in the three years 1998 to 2000, inclusive.

The person named submitted two applications for special beef premium on 12 January and 19 October 2001 for nine animals and 13 animals respectively. Advance payments of 80% for both applications issued to the person named in December 2001 and January 2002. There is an outstanding query in relation to animal tag No. 271655560035. This animal is not listed on the cattle movement monitoring system as being in the herd at the time of application. A letter has issued to the person named requesting notification of the relevant animal movement to SWS, Bandon. Payment in respect of this animal will issue when the outstanding problem has been resolved.
The person named applied for premium for 36 animals under the suckler cow premium scheme 2001. Payment of his 100% entitlement will issue within the next week.
