Vol. 548 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

132 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive area based payments for 2001. [5343/02]

The 2001 area aid application for the person named has been processed. I understand that he was not an applicant under 2001 area-based compensatory allowance scheme and as a result no payments under this scheme have issued to him. However, I have asked my officials to examine this matter again and to inform the person named of the outcome.

The person named applied for premium for five animals under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. He has been paid his full entitlement under this scheme.

He also applied for premium for four animals under the 2001 special beef premium scheme. The 80% advance payment has issued in respect of these animals.

Eligibility for 2001 slaughter premium has been determined in respect of three animals. However, payment in respect of these animals has not issued as my Department has not received a producer acknowledgement form. A form issued to the person named and payment cannot be made unless it is signed and returned by him.

John Ellis

Question:

133 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if payment will be made for 1992 sheep headage and premium to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [5344/02]

The person named failed to present his flock for a compliance inspection on 11 June 1992. Consequently under the terms and conditions of the schemes he was deemed ineligible for payment.
