Vol. 548 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

156 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) has not received a 2001 suckler cow payment; if payment will be immediately processed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5673/02]

The person named applied for premium for seven animals under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. Following an examination of his application it was found that according to CMMS records animal tag number GNJP0010A was not on his herd reconciliation profile and there was no record of the animal being moved into his herd. An 80% advance payment of €989.52 based on six animals issued on 26 November 2001. Issue of balancing payments commenced on 31 January 2002 and a recheck of the herdowner's application showed that the situation regarding animal tag number GNJP0010A had not changed. The district livestock office of my Department issued a letter dated 8 February 2002 to the person named advising him to contact the mart where the animal was purchased and to have the movement details for this animal updated on the CMMS database. The application will then be processed for final payment.

Question:

157 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Sligo has not received payment for a slatted shed; if payment will be immediately processed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5674/02]

The person named is an applicant under the national scheme for the control of farm pollution. It will be appreciated that there are several stages through which each application has to pass before payment can be made. However, I am pleased to say that in the case in question these have now been completed and payment will issue within the next two weeks.
