Vol. 548 No. 5

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Michael Finucane

Question:

279 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason speech and language therapy was refused to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick as recommended by the consultant in Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children; and if he will reconsider the refusal decision and grant this therapy. [5620/02]

The provision of health related services, including speech and language therapy, is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the Chief Executive Officer of the Mid-Western Health Board with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy, as a matter of urgency.
