Vol. 548 No. 5

Written Answers. - Respite Care.

Richard Bruton

Question:

282 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health and Children the basis on which the State can charge medical card holders for weekend respite care; and if he will issue a directive to all health authorities requiring them to cease charging medical card holders for such a service. [5653/02]

If the Deputy has any information of instances where an individual has been charged for weekend respite care, I would ask that he consider making the information available to my Department. When that information becomes available my Department will contact the health boards on the matter.
