119 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if she has been requested to bring into force a statutory instrument or regulation which permits employees in Iarnród Éireann to opt for a voluntary severance scheme; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [5876/02]
My Department is currently preparing a statutory instrument to extend the provisions of the Córas Iompair Éireann superannuation scheme, 1951, as amended. The purpose of this Order is to extend to 17 January 2006 superannuation terms currently applicable to members of the scheme and to authorise an award of supplementary benefit in the event of voluntary severance. I hope to be in a position to sign the order shortly.
