Question:

208 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the advantages under his Department's remit that have accrued to County Donegal and the north west region arising from the Objective One designation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6043/02]

The information requested by the Deputy is as follows:

Under my Department's Equal Opportunities Childcare Programme 2000 – 2006 funding to the northwest region is made available as part of the Border midland and western operational programme. A total number of 367 projects have been supported in the region. The funding allocated to date amounts to €29,643,977.00, £23,346,529.10. This includes 46 child care projects located in County Donegal which have received funding of €3,158,464.00, £2,487,492.54.

Under my Department's equality for women measure of the national development plan, 19 projects in the Border, midland and western region have been allocated approximately €3 million, £2,362,692, in funding and of those 19 projects the following three are designated as Objective One status.
