Vol. 549 No. 1

Written Answers. - Hospital Doctors.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

87 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received the report of the independent person he appointed to review the circumstances in which a psychiatrist (details supplied) suspended in Britain, was allowed to practise at two psychiatric hospitals here; the way in which procedures or regulations may be improved; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5768/02]

The report to which the Deputy refers has been received in my Department within the last week. As the report is currently under consideration within the Department, I do not intend to make a statement on the matter at this time. I hope to be in a position to make a statement regarding the report and its recommendations in the near future.
