120 Mr. U. Burke asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the reason Coillte, a State body, is ineligible for EU grants and premia while Teagasc, another State body, is in receipt of substantial grants and premia for livestock and cereal aid; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The European Commission decided in July 2000 to disallow forestry premium payments to Coillte Teoranta. A challenge to the decision has been lodged by Ireland with the European Court of Justice.

As the case is sub judice it would not be appropriate for me to comment on it any further.
