Vol. 549 No. 2

Written Answers. - Maintenance Orders.

Brian Hayes

Question:

35 Mr. B. Hayes asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to the problems which are associated with the non payment of maintenance where mothers must make summonses in the original District Court where the judgment was given; if he will consider allowing people in this situation to apply to a court of similar status in order to reduce the inconvenience involved in terms of taking time off work; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5410/02]

Applications of this nature are governed by District Court rules. I will pass on the Deputy's suggestion to the rules committee.
