Written Answers. - Milk Quality.

Deirdre Clune

Question:

166 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the maximum permissible level of dioxin in milk; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6833/02]

Council Regulation (EC) No. 2375/2001 of 29 November 2001 provides a maximum tolerance for dioxins in milk or dairy products of 3 picograms per gram of milk fat. Dioxin contamination has not posed a problem in Irish milk or dairy products.
