Question:

216 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in Dublin 20 will be given an appointment for an operation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6383/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services for residents of Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has therefore asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.

217 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for an MRI scan. [6385/02]

The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
