Vol. 549 No. 3

Written Answers. - Complaints Procedure.

Paul Bradford

Question:

240 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the case of a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; and if he will have this person's complaint fully investigated. [6586/02]

In a previous answer to a question about this particular case, I informed the Deputy that this matter was dealt with by the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

Inquiries with the ERHA reveal that the matter was investigated by the local East Coast Area Health Board, and subsequently by the central appeals office of the authority. The client was advised of her right of appeal to the Office of the Ombudsman, in the event that she was unhappy with the outcome of the investigation, and this, I understand, she chose to exercise.
