284 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received a submission from Ballina Town Council for funding towards the repair or replacement of defective doors and windows in old persons' dwellings within the town council area; and if approval will be made for funding. Question:

285 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of local authority houses constructed in counties Leitrim and Sligo in the years 1993 to 2001. [6371/02]

Information on the number of local authority houses completed in counties Leitrim and Sligo in the years 1993 to 2000 is published in my Department's annual bulletins of housing statistics, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. In 2001, 57 local authority houses were constructed-acquired in County Leitrim and 108 in County Sligo.

Question:

286 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of local authority houses constructed under the rural residential scheme in 1999, 2000 and 2001. [6372/02]

It is estimated that some 86 houses were constructed-acquired by the local authorities participating in the rural resettlement scheme in the period 1997 to 2001. A breakdown as between the number of houses provided in each of the years in question is not available in my Department.
