Vol. 549 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

444 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Education and Science when a resource teacher will be allocated to a school (details supplied) in County Donegal. [6727/02]

The school referred to by the Deputy acts as the base school for a full-time resource teacher post which it shares with three other schools in the area. The level of support currently allocated to pupils in the school is based on their assessed needs and warrants the allocation of a shared resource teacher post only.

My Department is currently examining an application for resource teacher support for additional pupils in the school and further contact will be made with the school management as soon as this process has been completed.
