Vol. 549 No. 3

Written Answers. - Administrative Individualisation.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

81 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he has received the report of the working group on administrative individualisation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6612/02]

The working group to which the Deputy refers was established in October 2000 under the terms of the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness to produce proposals to progress the implementation of administrative individualisation within the social welfare system. The working group comprised representatives of the social partners, the Department of Finance and my Department and is chaired by an officer of my Department.

The working group has completed its deliberations and its report has been circulated to the members who constituted the working group for their final sign off and approval. This will be completed in the very near future.
The report will then be presented to the Oireachtas and, as the group was established under the terms of the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness, it will also be circulated to the social partners prior to its general release.
