Vol. 549 No. 4

Written Answers. - Wildlife Habitats.

Austin Deasy

Question:

256 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands her views on the threat to the kittiwake habitats in the inner Dunmore East harbour area; and the steps she is taking to protect these habitats. [7239/02]

It is assumed that the query raised refers to the proposed remedial works to be carried out to stabilise the cliff faces at the inner harbour in Dunmore East, County Waterford, for safety reasons. I previously addressed this matter in reply to Parliamentary Question No. 157, 8 August 2001, and circumstances remain as outlined then. Waterford County Council has requested further information on the proposed works from the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources and is awaiting a reply.
