Vol. 549 No. 4

Written Answers. - Legislative Programme.

Derek McDowell

Question:

25 Mr. McDowell asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when she expects to publish the consolidated national monuments Bill; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [6808/02]

My Department is working closely with the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel on the complex task of drafting the legislation, which is a large and complex Bill of some 86 heads. Before the Bill is published, I have decided to issue an information document outlining the key approaches proposed for adoption in the revised legislation. It is expected that this document will be published shortly.

26 Mrs. B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the sections of the National Cultural Institutions Act, 1997, which have still to be brought into effect; when it is intended to implement the outstanding sections; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
