Vol. 550 No. 1

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

146 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of new local authority houses built and occupied in each local authority in each of the past four years, excluding houses provided by voluntary agencies or co-operatives; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7402/02]

Information relating to the number of local authority dwellings completed or acquired, for each local authority for the years 1998 to 2000, inclusive, is published in my Department's annual bulletins of housing statistics. Copies of these documents are available in the Oireachtas Library.

The total number of dwellings completed in 2001 amounted to 5,022 units. The details for each local authority will be contained in my Department's annual bulletin of housing statistics for 2001 to be published shortly.
