154 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress regarding the provision of the promised new library at Confey, Leixlip, County Kildare; the current projections for the project; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7412/02]

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

I approved a proposal by Kildare County Council for the acceptance of a tender in relation to the provision of a new library at Leixlip in July 2001.

It is now a matter for the local authority to progress the implementation of the project.
