139 Mr. Haughey asked the Minister for Defence if his Department has a library or if another library comes under the aegis of his Department; the way in which staff are recruited to such libraries; if there are vacancies at the present time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7640/02]

Minister for Defence (Mr. M. Smith):

A military library, designated the Defence Forces library, which is staffed by members of the Permanent Defence Force, is located in the military college, Defence Forces training centre, Curragh Camp, County Kildare. There are two vacancies at present.
