172 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if the breeding and rearing of greyhounds as a leisure pursuit and hobby by retired farmers receiving payment from the farm retirement scheme is permitted under the scheme. [7774/02]

The breeding and rearing of greyhounds as a leisure pursuit by participants in the early retirement schemes does not affect their eligibility under the schemes.
