Olivia Mitchell

Question:

344 Ms O. Mitchell asked the Minister for Health and Children the funding available from his Department for either capital or current purposes for SKIP (details supplied). [8150/02]

Any additional revenue funding made available to my Department for services to persons with an intellectual disability or autism is allocated to the health boards and the Eastern Regional Health Authority in their annual letter of determination. Decisions in relation to the precise services to be provided from this funding are a matter for the individual health boards, taking account of any guidelines which my Department may issue and in line with the priorities which have been identified for the region by the regional consultative and development committees. Decisions in relation to the indicative capital funding which will be available for these services over the remaining years of the national development plan will also be agreed by the boards using the regional planning and consultative processes mentioned above.

My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority to examine the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply directly to her.
