Question:378 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the promised sewerage scheme for Glenties, County Donegal. [7603/02]
Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
The Glenties sewerage scheme was 20th on the list of water and sewerage schemes submitted by Donegal County Council in response to my Department's request to local authorities to undertake fresh assessments of the needs for capital works in their areas and to prioritise their proposals on the basis of these assessments. These priority lists were taken into account in the framing of the water services investment programme 2000-02, announced in July 2000. Given the priority afforded to the scheme by the council, the level of competing demand and the funding available, it has been possible to include the scheme in the programme.
