Vol. 550 No. 2

Written Answers. - Special Areas of Conservation.

Michael Ring

Question:

447 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the details of the appeal mechanism for farmers who wish to appeal the destocking criteria set out in the framework documents. [7739/02]

An appeals mechanism will be established in relation to destocking levels prescribed by commonage framework plans, but details have yet to be finalised. However, it is envisaged that it will run on similar lines to the SAC Appeals Advisory Board that deals with objections to designation of lands within special areas of conservation.

Details of the appeals mechanism will be made available to all concerned as soon as they have been finalised.
