453 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the funding allocated each year from 1995 to 2001, inclusive, by her Department for Cork north-west; the specific project investments; and the major developments which began or major service improvements which were funded as a result of an increase in funding in each of these years. The information requested by the Deputy is contained in the following tabular statement. The figures provided cover expenditure on capital projects by my Department within the constituency of Cork north-west for each of the years 1995 to 2001, inclusive.
In the case of capital works within the Gaeltacht area in County Cork, my Department operates a number of schemes under the Gaeltacht Acts, and the works can range from major improvement schemes to very minor roadworks. Given the diverse range and scale of the projects involved the overall capital expenditure within the constituency under each scheme is included.
With regard to Údarás na Gaeltachta, the figures shown relate to expenditure on grants to industry, investment in companies and capital investment in industrial infrastructure in the years specified for all of the Cork Gaeltacht, including Oileán Chléire which is not in the constituency of Cork north-west.
