Question:471 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the status of a naturalisation application by a person (details supplied) in County Galway. [7488/02]
Written Answers. - Naturalisation Applications.
An application for a certificate of naturalisation from the person referred to by the Deputy was received in my Department on 25 May 2001.
At present the average processing time for a naturalisation application is 15 months. Therefore, it is likely that the application of the person referred to will be finalised in the second half of this year.
As soon as I have reached a decision on the matter the applicant and the Deputy will be informed of the outcome.
