Vol. 550 No. 2

Written Answers. - Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme.

Paul Bradford

Question:

617 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the future of apprenticeship training at Coláiste Dáibhís in Mallow, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7893/02]

At present, Davis College, Mallow, offers 48 training places per year for apprentices in the trade of carpentry-joinery and 48 training places per year in the trade of motor mechanics. It is envisaged, given current demands for train ing places in these trades, that the current provision in Davis College will be maintained.

There are no plans at present to increase or decrease the number of apprentice training places in Davis College.
