63 Mr. Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the projects which have been assisted to date under the social economy programme in the western region; the number of persons who qualified under each of the eligibility criteria in the projects assisted; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [7932/02]

In the FÁS west region 20 social economy enterprises have been approved for full grant funding under the social economy programme. To date, there are 20 managers in place and 83 staff have commenced work. Fifty-six projects have been approved for feasibility study grants. The projects are as follows:

– Clarenbridge Oyster Co-op Limited, Clarenbridge, County Galway.

– Community Radio Castlebar Limited, Castlebar, County Mayo.

– Castlebar Care for the Aged Limited, Castlebar, County Mayo.

– Custom House Studios Limited, Lower Quay, Westport, County Mayo.

– Naturally West Holidays, I.R.D. Offices, Kiltimagh, County Mayo.

– Moy Valley Tourism, Ballina, County Mayo.

– Glenamaddy Community Development Company, Glenamaddy, County Galway.

– Athenry Heritage and Tourism Centre, County Galway.

– Mountbellew regional Development Co-op Limited, County Galway.

– Oughterard Credit Union, County Galway.

– Oughterard Leisure Centre – Community Centre, County Galway.

– Le Chéile Westside Limited, Galway City.

– Bogwood Ireland.

– Mayo Celtic Holidays, County Mayo.

– Killala Community Council, County Mayo.

– Turasóireacht Iorrais Teo, County Mayo.

– Ionad Nua Cumarsáid Acla, County Mayo.

– Ballintubber Abbey, County Mayo.

– Moy Valley Business Consultancy, Ballina, County Mayo.

– Timpeallacht Na nOileán, Inis Mór, County Galway.

Some 73 of these staff meet the three year unemployment and over-35 eligibility criteria, and the other ten qualified under the 10% exemption set out in the eligibility criteria for the programme.
