Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Milk Quota.

Michael Creed

Question:

211 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he has received an application form for additional milk quota from the tribunal from a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if this application has been considered; and if so, the decision made in respect of this claim. [8520/02]

The milk quota appeals tribunal considered an application from the person named for additional quota at its meeting on 4 March 2002. The tribunal did not, however, recommend an allocation of quota in this case.

The person named has been notified of the outcome of his application. Due to the large volume of applications submitted during the current milk quota year and the limited quantity of quota available for distribution, the tribunal is not in a position to re-examine this case during the current milk quota year.

However, he may apply when application forms for the 2002-03 milk quota year become available. The forms will be available after 1 April 2002 from milk purchasers and from milk policy division, Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development, Kildare Street, Dublin 2.
