Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Cancer Screening Programme.

Enda Kenny

Question:

330 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Health and Children the position regarding the holding of breast screening clinics in Mayo General Hospital; the number of clinics which have been held in the hospital over the past 12 months; the funding available to continue the holding of breast screening clinics for the remainder of 2002; if he is satisfied with the level of service currently provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8376/02]

As the Deputy is aware, responsibility for the provision of services at Mayo General Hospital is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
