Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

395 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo, who was admitted to the Mater Hospital on 3 March 2002 and on 6 March was gowned and prepared for surgery, was told to go home as there was no operating space for him. [8870/02]

The provision of services in the case of the person named from County Mayo is the responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
