Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Jack Wall

Question:

419 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Carlow can be facilitated with an earlier appointment date at the Mater Hospital, Dublin 7; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9031/02]

The provision of hospital services for people living in County Carlow is the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board, in the first instance. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer at the board to look into the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Seymour Crawford

Question:

420 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for Health and Children if a person (details supplied) in County Monaghan can be dealt with as a matter of urgency in Navan orthopaedic unit; if not, if this person can be dealt with elsewhere, preferably Cappagh Hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9032/02]

Responsibility for the provision of hospital services to residents of County Monaghan rests with the North Eastern Health Board. My Department has therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
