Question:509 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the provision of a new sewerage scheme for Newport, County Mayo; if he has examined reports provided on this proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9514/02]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 507 and 509 together.
I have approved Newport sewerage scheme for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative. A preliminary report for the scheme is awaited by my Department from Mayo County Council.
