Vol. 550 No. 4

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers.

Róisín Shortall

Question:

642 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the reasons for the delay in the reporting of the interdepartmental committee who were examining the disabled driver tax concession scheme; if this group have made recommendations; if so, the nature of the recommendations; when the Government will act on these recommendations; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9532/02]

The interdepartmental review group examining the disabled drivers and disabled passengers (tax concessions) scheme, under the chairmanship of this Department, was established in April 1998. Work on the report of the group is at an advanced stage. The report will be presented to the Minister for Finance once completed. The decision on when the report will be published will rest with that Minister.
