In the vocational sector teaching resources are generally allocated on a VEC scheme basis rather than on an individual school basis. It is a matter for the chief executive officer, with the approval of the VEC, to allocate teaching resources to individual schools in the scheme from within the overall approved allocation to the scheme.
Of the 17 post primary schools in the Cork South-West electoral division, six are schools within the County Cork VEC scheme. The schools concerned and their enrolments are as follows:
